Past Experience

 

From fall 2015 to fall 2019 (as an undergraduate), Ahaan was a member of the Educational Studies Program, where he held the following positions: teacher, secretary, publicity director, director of teaching resources, director of online education, and athletic chair. Ahaan also directed multiple programs, including Spark and Summer HSSP. He has also taught classes at ESP’s programs; some of his classes can be seen here.

From fall 2016 to spring 2019, Ahaan was an officer for the MIT UMA, one of the primary clubs for events in the MIT mathematics department. Ahaan first served as a secretary, then as the president. He was also an organizer for the related Student Colloquium in Undergraduate Mathematics (SCUM).

From fall 2016 to fall 2019, Ahaan was a sport manager for billiards, foosball, softball, tennis, football, and basketball. He was also a part of the intramural executive board, serving as an undergraduate member-at-large. As a result of his work with intramurals at MIT, he received the Harold J. Pettegrove Award.

During the summer of 2019, Ahaan was an instructor for the Cybermath Harvard location summer camp and trained middle and high school students for the AMC and AIME math olympiad contests.

From 2015 to 2016, Ahaan was part of the Jörn Dunkel Group and performed research in biomathematics using Markov chain theory and MATLAB coding; project was provided by the MIT-PRIMES program and continued as a UROP

From 2016 to 2018, Ahaan was the head sports editor and a contributing writer for the sports column of MIT’s official newspaper, The Tech. Selected works by Ahaan can be viewed online here.

From 2015 to 2018, Ahaan was an officer and staff member for the Harvard-MIT Mathematics Tournament. He held the following positions: problem writer, grader, proctor, social chair, and outreach chair.
